The Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Mohammed Abdul-Salam, has announced ambitious plans for 2026, signaling a significant transformation for the organisation.

In a video shared by Woezor TV on Facebook on December 20, 2025, Abdul-Salam outlined reforms that are set to revolutionise the NLA.

“As far as the year 2026 is concerned, the National Lottery Authority of Ghana has set out to implement extensive reforms. We will be enhancing the governance of the NLA,” he stated.

These changes according to him will focus on two key areas: strengthening governance structures and introducing a variety of innovative gaming products.

He further added, “Additionally, we will introduce a wider range of new products for the gaming public. The year promises to be exciting.”

These strategic changes aim to enhance public participation and engagement with the NLA, potentially boosting revenue and providing greater value to the Ghanaian public.

“Significantly, one of the initiatives this year has involved training on cybersecurity and blockchain administration for lotteries. This training was conducted – one session in the Ivory Coast and another in Morocco – as we prepare to transition into the new year.”

“We are establishing committees to focus on further training in areas such as governance and operations. In the upcoming year, we will do more to enhance our operations,” he concluded.
