Renowned Ghanaian actress and television personality Nana Ama McBrown has appealed to the public to show respect to her ex-husband following the end of their marriage.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based TV3, McBrown addressed public perceptions surrounding her former spouse, stressing that he is no longer married and should be treated accordingly.

“I don’t want people to disrespect him,” she said. “Sometimes when he is chilling, people say, ‘He is somebody’s husband, go home.’ No, he’s not somebody’s husband.”

According to the celebrated actress, such comments are unfair and unnecessary, especially given the mutual understanding that led to their separation.

Despite the breakup, Nana Ama McBrown revealed that she still has love for her ex-husband and maintains a healthy relationship with him. She emphasised that the bond they share, built over the years, should not be diminished by their decision to go their separate ways.

McBrown explained that the divorce was not rooted in animosity, and she believes both parties deserve peace, dignity, and the freedom to move on with their lives.
