Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has shared how she struggled to become a star in the media fraternity, revealing the challenges she faced in getting noticed despite her passion and talent.

In a recent interview widely circulated on social media, she recounted a time when her ambitions were largely overlooked.

“As you can see, nobody gave me their time of day. Not a single person cared…Nno one thought, this is a girl who has dreams. Even if she cannot achieve them now, let’s just engage her. Let her believe it can happen one day. But I never got that from anyone, “she said.

According to her, her fortunes changed when she met media personality Emmanuel Earl Ankrah, professionally known as Earl Ankrah, by chance. Nana Aba narrated how she first encountered him while sneaking into a GBC TV studio, captivated by his presentation.

“He noticed me and said, hey, aren’t you the girl on the radio? she recalled. I told him I wanted to do TV, and he laughed. Then he said, okay, if you want to do TV, why not? I’ll train you. That was it.”

She described how Earl Ankrah took her under his wing, guiding her every step of the way. From reviewing her radio playlists to correcting her language and delivery.

“He had no business doing that for me but he was there. He cared for me,” she said.

Earl Ankrah is a former national television show originator and host, widely recognized for creating and co-hosting the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s The Breakfast Show.

His mentorship, according to Nana Aba, was instrumental in her journey from radio to becoming one of Ghana’s leading TV personalities.
