Dutch club NAC Breda have opted not to activate the contract extension clauses of Ghana internationals Andre Ayew and Denis Odoi following the club’s relegation from the Dutch Eredivisie.

The decision comes after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign in which NAC Breda finished 17th in the 18-team league table, confirming their drop to the second tier after just one season in the top flight.

Odoi joined the club in November 2025 and quickly became an experienced figure in defence, making 19 appearances during the campaign. Ayew, who signed as a free agent in January 2026 after months without a club, featured 16 times and scored once for the struggling side.

Despite the experience and leadership brought by the two Ghanaian internationals, NAC Breda were unable to maintain consistent performances and results throughout the season.

The club is now expected to rebuild its squad ahead of life in the second division, with the departures of Ayew and Odoi marking the end of their brief spells in the Netherlands.

Both players remain in contention for future involvement with the Ghana national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
