Media personality MzGee has revealed a bizarre spiritual encounter she had after receiving a death prophecy in 2021.
Speaking on her Gee O’clock show, she disclosed that following the prophecy — which suggested she could die while hosting TV3’s reality show Mentor, she visited the man of God who delivered the message.
He gave her specific spiritual directions to perform, including the use of a bottle of wine.
According to MzGee, something strange happened the very next morning after she carried out the instruction.
“The first time I used the wine, by the next day it had gathered mold-like particles inside — not around the bottle, but inside the wine itself,” she said.
She explained that the unusual occurrence left her deeply alarmed but also reinforced her conviction that the prophecy had to be taken seriously.
MzGee added that the experience, coupled with her recurring dreams of death at the time, pushed her into intense prayer and fasting.
“When I had this prophecy, it was prayer mood for me. I was praying, counselling, reversing. I didn’t sleep. I went all out,” she recounted.
The television and radio personality said while she acknowledges that there are fraudulent prophets in Ghana, her own experience taught her that prophecies can manifest in strange ways.
Her remarks come in the wake of heightened public debate on the role of prophecy in national life.
On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations directed that religious leaders should formally submit any prophecy or spiritual insight of national significance to its office for urgent review.
‘I resigned from TV3 because of a death prophecy’ – MzGee
According to the statement signed by Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the directive specifically applies to revelations concerning high-profile political leaders, governance, national security or public stability.
The move followed claims by some prophets that they had foreseen the recent tragic accident involving government officials, military personnel, and NDC executives and had even asked some of the victims to call them prior to the crash.
The government said the measure was aimed at ensuring responsibility, discernment and proper stewardship over the nation’s destiny, particularly in a time of uncertainty.
