Popular Ghanaian songstress Mzbel has shared details of her first encounter with the founder of Zion Prayer Ministries International, Prophet Fire Oja (Jedidia Henry Kore), following a formal complaint made to the police against him.
The 16-years hitmaker, in an interview with ZionFelix, shared how Prophet Fire Ogya was sweating and shivering when she met him at the police station while he was in custody.
Asked if he was indeed arrested or simply invited by the police for questioning, Mzbel replied, “He was in police custody, I don’t know by which means he found himself there, but he was in custody.”
Narrating the events that led to her reporting him to the police, she shared how she came across a video of the prophet.
“I woke up one morning to hear him saying all sorts of things about me, discrediting my name and even threatening me that if I have the heart, I should come out and face him
“I don’t even know him or have any issue with him. And I knew that once he starts, he will not stop until he gets what he wants, “she said.
Describing their encounter at the station, she said she was surprised by his demeanor.
“I was even disappointed when I saw him. I was expecting some kind of aura or confidence, but he looked pathetic. He was sweating and shivering.”
She further narrated that the police chief asked the prophet if he knew her, to which he responded in the negative.
“When he was told that I was Mzbel, he looked at me and said, ‘Oh, I’ve never seen you before. I have only seen your videos on social media,’” she recounted.
When questioned about why he spoke negatively about her despite not knowing her, Mzbel said the prophet told the police he had already explained his reasons and suggested that they make peace.
She disclosed that the police informed her they intended to detain him for 48 hours after he allegedly refused to write a statement, despite being guided on how to do so.
Mzbel said she later left the station and was subsequently informed that he had been granted bail.
“The case will still go to court, but the date has not been set because a courtroom is yet to be assigned,” she noted.
Mzbel emphasized that her decision to seek legal redress was necessary to protect her reputation.
“All that he said about me was wrong, so I had to seek legal help. He is a pastor, and what he says would be believed by people. That could go against me, so he has to retract his statement,” she explained.
She added that she is open to resolving the matter if the prophet apologises publicly.
“If he retracts and apologises, I can drop the case,” she said.
The singer also dismissed suggestions that she should have ignored the situation because of her celebrity status.
“It is not about me being a celebrity and having to ignore it. It is my right to report false allegations made against me. I didn’t know that at first, but now I do,” she stated.
Mzbel concluded by warning that she would not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who makes false claims aimed at damaging her image.
