Jeffery Nortey says his parents thought he would outgrow his acting dreams Jeffery Nortey says his parents thought he would outgrow his acting dreams

Ghanaian actor and content creator, Jeffery Nortey, has stated that his parents initially did not support his passion for acting.

In an interview with Channel One TV, Jeffery disclosed that while growing up, his parents thought his interest in acting was just a phase and expected him to change his mind as he matured.

Unlike his siblings, who had more traditional career plans, he noted that he stood firm in his desire to become an actor, even when his parents didn’t know how to support him.

“I got a brother and a sister who shared what they wanted to do growing up, but I maintained that I wanted to act. They didn’t know how they could help me. They thought I would change my mind,” he recalled.

Jeffery added that he reminded his family at every stage of his life that acting was his calling, even as far back as his days in primary school.

“At every stage in my life, I reminded them of my resolve to act; after JHS, after SHS, and even before then. Right from primary school, I was called Ramsey Noah,” he said.

He also admitted that in the beginning, he was shy to talk about wanting to be an actor because it seemed unusual at the time.

However, he said his goal has never been to be famous, but rather to use his talent to impact others.

“Then, I was shy to say I wanted to be an actor. At every point, I was the odd one out. It has been my dream, not to be popular or famous, but for others to benefit from it,” he added.
