Kumawood actress Joyce Boakye has narrated her painful experience of being betrayed by a close friend she confided in during a difficult time.
In a conversation with Emelia Brobbey on March 10, 2025, the actress revealed that she discovered the true nature of her friend during a challenging period in her marriage.
She explained that the betrayal, coming from someone she had known for 15 years, made it hard for her to trust others, leaving her feeling isolated.
“I was doing everything with her, and she made me believe she loved me more than a sister would. When something happened to me and I needed her the most, she showed me that everything she said and did was all pretend,” Joyce recalled.
“Because of what she did, I don’t have friends anymore. I’m scared to let anyone in, so for the past four years, I’ve been lonely. My child is now my friend and everything,” she added.
Joyce also opened up on struggling with depression after her marriage faced challenges.
“I took my issues to social media and cried because I was depressed. It got to a point where I didn’t know who to talk to. Sometimes I wish I could delete things I’ve shared online, but it’s too late,” she said.
