Manchester City winger, Jérémy Doku has opened up about how his Christian faith has shaped both his life and football, saying that nothing, not money, not fame, not worldly pleasures, has been able to fill the “emptiness” he once felt.

The Belgian international has become increasingly vocal about his relationship with Jesus Christ, describing football as a “ministry” and a way to glorify God through his performances on the pitch, underlining how deeply his spirituality influences his purpose as a player.

“I see football as a ministry; it’s a way I can glorify Jesus through the game,” Doku said.

In a candid statement, he made it clear that material success alone could never satisfy him, reflecting on how his faith brought meaning where other things had fallen short.

“I’m at the top, and that emptiness wasn’t filled by money or girls. It’s only been filled by Jesus Christ,” he added.

Doku’s commitment to Christianity was visible in 2024 when he chose to be baptized, an experience he described as shedding his “old sinful nature” and beginning a new life with God.
