Former Government’s Spokesperson on Governance and Security, Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has expressed worry over the safety of officials who served in the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration.
These concerns come after the residence of former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta was raided by security personnel Tuesday afternoon.
The ex-official, who took to Facebook to express his dissatisfaction, noted that he and other colleagues had come into government solely to serve the country.
“As a former appointee of the government of President Akufo-Addo, I know that we came to serve and only to serve in the interest of the Ghanaian people.
“Must we be scared and worried that after serving diligently the people of Ghana, one is not safe even in their home and country of birth?” he quizzed.
He continued his inquest in his post, writing, “Who sanctions these raids? Are we to be more worried at the turn of events?”
Dr. Boakye-Danquah said he hoped the media, civil society organizations, and the diplomatic corps were closely following events.
The raid is the most high-profile of its kind on a former Akufo-Addo government official since the National Democratic Congress returned to power last month.
It remains unclear why the raid was conducted by security officials.
