Ghanaian artiste Samuel Ofei Ankrah Badu, popularly known as Arathejay, has shared thoughts about what music means to him.

According to the “Jesus Christ” hitmaker, music goes beyond just telling a story to him but rather it is a form of prophecy.

In an interview with TurnTable Charts, Arathejay explained that he believes the words spoken in music have power and can influence what happens in real life.

“For me, music goes beyond storytelling because, to me, it’s a kind of prophecy. When you keep saying something to yourself, it is prone to come to pass,” Arathejay stated.

He also talked about how careful he is when writing his songs. According to him, music is about expressing what he believes in, and he always makes sure that his lyrics have a positive message.

“Music is about saying what I believe should be said. I’m very particular about my words and lyrics. Most of the time, people are prone to sing about what they feel, but I make sure it’s a positive output at the end of the day,” he shared.

Arathejay added that his music is meant to speak for people who may not have the chance to express themselves. He shared that while he sings about different topics, he ensures that there is a message of hope and positivity in his lyrics.

“Being able to speak for those who do not have the mouthpiece or avenue. My music isn’t always about people struggling or going through life because I touch other themes like love too, but positivity is always present,” he said.
