    Early Life and Background

    Mary Apodita Agongo, popularly known as Apodita, is a Ghanaian Afro-Pop and Folk singer-songwriter. She was born in Bolgatanga and raised in Sherigu, a vibrant community that heavily influenced her musical foundation. Born into the Anam Ndora family, Apodita is the daughter of Agongo Thomas and Agongo Azumah.

    From a young age, Apodita displayed a natural affinity for music, singing in her local church choir and participating in cultural dance and music activities throughout her teenage years. Her grandfather, a traditional musician known as Aganzua, played a pivotal role in nurturing her passion. Observing him perform inspired her fascination with the art of storytelling through music.

    Apodita completed her basic education at Dorongo J.H.S in Bolgatanga in 2017 and furthered her studies at Golden Step Senior High School, where she graduated in 2020.

    Musical Journey

    Apodita began her professional musical journey by blending her native Frafra language with English to create a unique and soulful sound. Drawing inspiration from iconic musicians such as Christy Azuma, Wiyaala, Stevo Atambire, Atongo Zimba, P-Square, Celine Dion, and Chris Brown, she developed a distinctive style that combines emotional depth with infectious rhythms.

    In 2024, Apodita released her debut EP titled Touch I, featuring popular tracks such as:

    Her standout song, Mam Nɔŋɛ Hom (I Love You), became an instant hit, earning her widespread recognition and a loyal fan base.
