THE Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Benjamin Ayiku Nartey, in collaboration with the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly, has supported the just-ended inter-schools’ games competition.

The move was to promote education, training, and sports among the youth in the Ledzokuku Municipality.

All four circuits in the area — namely Ledzokuku North, South, Central, and West — received support in the form of undisclosed sums of cash.

During the just-ended games, each circuit competed in under-13 soccer (boys) and netball (girls).

There were also competitions in under-15 soccer (boys and girls), volleyball (boys and girls), handball (boys and girls), and netball (girls).

A team from each of the four circuits competed at the McDan Astro Turf at Tsuibleo yesterday, where the winners will represent the Municipality at the Zone Six Zonal competition slated for tomorrow.

The Municipal Assembly, apart from the undisclosed sums of cash, has also provided each circuit with jerseys for the competition.

In an address read for him, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah, stated that the Assembly will next year provide more support during such events.

This, according to him, would help in the identification and the development of the various skills in the youth, which, when enhanced, can bring many benefits to the individual, communities, and the nation.

He appealed to the youth to avoid acts that could mar the development of their future dreams by desisting from social vices.

The various School Improvement and Support Officers (SISOs) received the cash for their circuits.
