    Mourners marked the one-week observance of the late legendary musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known as Daddy Lumba, with spirited performances and emotional tributes from leading Ghanaian artistes.

    Renowned musicians including Amakye Dede, Sarkodie, Kofi Nti and Bless paid glowing homage through live performances, honouring the artiste whose timeless songs have defined multiple generations.

    The atmosphere at the Independence Square was charged with emotion as the audience danced to a medley of Daddy Lumba’s iconic hits, celebrating his enduring influence on Ghanaian music.

    The tribute performances highlighted the artiste’s impact on the nation’s cultural and social landscape, with a career spanning over four decades.

    The event which drew hundreds of mourners including influential figures from across the creative arts and other sectors, admirers, and well-wishers to the Black Star Square in Accra, forms part of a series of events planned to honour his memory.

    According to family sources, a state-assisted funeral and further commemorative activities will follow in the weeks ahead.

    One-week celebration for Daddy Lumba draws massive crowd

    This the family said is to ensure that the highlife legend is celebrated with the dignity and reverence befitting his legacy.

    His music, including classics such as Makra Mo, Akwanoma, Mensei Da, Ye Ne Wu Sre Kwa, Mesum Jesus, Aben Wo Ha, Sika, Enko Da, Adaka Tea and Yen Fa Odo, among many others have shaped the highlife industry, earning him recognition as one of Ghana’s most influential performers.
