Host nation Morocco face Nigeria in a high-stakes semi-final clash at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Wednesday, January 14, 2025.

The match, which is currently taking place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, promises to be a cagey contest as two of the best teams in the tournament battle for a place in the final.

After five matches, Nigeria have scored 14 goals, conceded 4, and kept two clean sheets.

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has scored four goals, Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman has three, while Akor Adams has registered two.

They are the most offensive side in the competition, boasting great attacking players and the highest goal tally so far.

On the other hand, Morocco have displayed a solid defence, conceding just one goal, with Achraf Hakimi playing a key role in their success.

Brahim Díaz has scored five goals in the tournament so far, while El Kaabi and other teammates have also contributed, with the Atlas Lions netting nine goals and conceding only one after five games.

The winner of this semi-final will face either Senegal in the final of the 2025 AFCON to decide the champion.
