Morocco’s U20 national team booked their place in the final of the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Thursday night after beating Egypt 1-0 in their semi-final clash.

The youth national teams of the two North African countries locked horns at the 30 June Stadium today and put up a fight in a bid to advance to the final of what has been an exciting tournament.

On the matchday, Morocco dominated in terms of possession and shots at goal but could not find the back of the net in the first half, with Egypt’s defense standing strong.

However, in the second half, Morocco finally breached the Egyptian defense in the 77th minute.

Ismael Aouad set up Jones El Abdellaoui to score the only goal of the match to break the hearts of the hosts.

Following the win over Egypt in the semi-finals, Morocco will now take on South Africa in the finals of the U20 AFCON.

South Africa reached the finals after overcoming Nigeria’s Flying Eagles with a 1-0 victory in the first semi-final match of the day.

The final will be played on Sunday, May 18.
