North African giants Morocco have secured their place in the final of the U-20 World Cup after defeating France in a penalty shootout on October 15, 2025.

French player Lisandru Olmeta scored an own goal in the 32nd minute, giving the African side the lead, which they maintained through the first half.

However, the Moroccans were unable to hold onto their lead in the second half, as Lucas Michel equalized in the 59th minute to level the score.

With the match tied after 90 minutes and extra time, it proceeded to a penalty shootout, where Morocco triumphed 5–4 to book a historic spot in the final.

The African giants had earlier recorded an emphatic 3–1 victory over the United States in the quarterfinals on October 12, 2025.

They will now face Argentina in the final on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in a battle for glory.

Morocco becomes the third African country to reach the U-20 World Cup final, following in the footsteps of Nigeria and Ghana, the latter having won the tournament in 2009.
