The Ministry of the Interior has officially announced that Monday, August 4, 2025, is not a public holiday.

In a statement shared on their facebook page
the Ministry urged the general public to ignore any misinformation suggesting otherwise.

The Ministry of the Interior listed the following statutory public holidays for the year 2025: New Year’s Day on Wednesday, 1st January; Constitution Day on Tuesday, 7th January; Independence Day on Thursday, 6th March; Good Friday on Friday, 18th April; and Easter Monday on Monday, 21st April.

Also included are Labour Day (Workers’ Day) on Thursday, 1st May; Republic Day on Tuesday, 1st July; and Founders’ Day on Sunday, 21st September.

The list continues with Farmers’ Day on Friday, 5th December; Christmas Day on Thursday, 25th December; and Boxing Day on Friday, 26th December, Eid-Ul-Fitr, Shaqq Day, and Eid-Ul-Adha.

The Ministry emphasized that commemorative days, such as African Union Day, are not considered public holidays and will not be observed as such.

The ministry is therefore urging Ghanaians to plan accordingly and treat Monday, August 4, 2025, as a regular working day.
