Police officers have been filmed appearing to punch and kick a man as he is pinned to the ground during an arrest at Manchester Airport.
Shocking mobile phone footage appears to show the moment three officers carried out the arrest of a ‘drunk and disorderly’ man at one of the bus stops in the terminal.
In the video, one of the officers can be seen allegedly punching the man four times and kicking him twice in the stomach as he attempts to get the handcuffs on.
He does this while two other officers pin the man on the ground using their knees. These officers also apparently managed to land some strikes on him as well.
The incident was filmed by a holidaymaker and is believed to have been recorded at around 1pm on Sunday, December 29.
Greater Manchester Police said they ‘understand the concerns around the use of force shown’.
They also confirmed the clip was being assessed by the force Professional Standards Unit, along with CCTV footage and the officer’s body worn cameras.
It comes five months after another GMP officer stood down from active duty after he was filmed kicking a man who was being arrested in the face during a melee at Manchester Airport.

Earlier this month, two men were told to appear in court in relation to the July incident, but no officers will face charges, the CPS said.
According to Manchester Evening News, police had initially been called to the latest incident this Sunday to reports of a drunk and disorderly male who was refused entry onto a bus and was causing a disturbance.
An officer arrived to arrest the man, but he was then joined by two more officers after he resisted and had to be restrained.
One of the officers, who is seen holding handcuffs in the video, appears to hit the man with his hands four times in the stomach.
He then appears to kick him twice, before appearing to punch him three more times.
Another officer is seen holding down the man’s head, while the third pins down his feet.
The first officer then appears to strike the man four more times whilst he kneels on his torso.
The second officer then appears to use his other hand to hit the man in the face, as shocked onlookers watch on.

Two more officers are seen to arrive at the scene to help in the arrest
After a number of heavy blows, the officers still struggle to put the handcuffs on the man as he attempts to wriggle his hands free from their grasp. It then appears that two more officers arrive to help in the arrest.
It has been reported that the man was later arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
The witness, who was on holiday in the UK from Norway, saw the incident unfold while sat on a coach from Liverpool to Manchester on Sunday afternoon and filmed it on his mobile phone.
A GMP spokesperson said: ‘We are currently reviewing a video published online showing the arrest of a man at Manchester Airport’s bus terminal yesterday afternoon (Sunday 29 December 2024).
‘We understand the concerns around the use of force shown on the clip and our professional standards unit is assessing all available footage including the officers’ body worn cameras and CCTV.’
