This is the moment masked protesters swarmed a Reform UK conference in Cornwall – chanting ‘Nazi’ and clashing with police.

The demonstration kicked off at 3.30pm this afternoon outside Carn Brea Leisure Centre in Redruth, where the conference took place.

Protesters waved flags and placards as they fought to shut down the meeting and bring an end to ‘far-right hatred’.

Some wore masks and goggles to conceal their identities while police officers were in attendance at the chaotic scene.

Dramatic footage shows demonstrators chanting ‘who protects the fascists’ as police appear to guide a woman through the crowd.

The protesters – many of them masked – also shout ‘shame on you’ while one yells ‘you should be f****** embarrassed’.

The crowd then appears to become physical with officers who push back and shout ‘go away’.

The protest was coordinated by Cornwall Resists, a coalition of local groups dedicated to ‘organising, solidarity and resisting oppression in all its forms’.

Cornwall Resists previously said in a social media post: ‘Our country is broken and our first-past-the-post parliamentary system is an archaic shambles that doesn’t represent us.

‘We all know that radical change is needed. But Reform is not, and will never be, the answer.’

Photos from inside the conference today showed a smiling Nigel Farage as he set out to increase support for his party in the run up to this year’s council elections.

Reform said the conference will be an opportunity for its Cornwall members and supporters to ‘hear directly from the Leadership of Reform UK, network with members and speak to business delegates from across Cornwall’.

The meeting has gathered major Reform UK figures, including its chairman Zia Yusuf and ex-MP Ann Widdecombe, who were set to speak at the event.

Sir Keir Starmer last week went to war with Reform UK as he accused Mr Farage’s party of ‘fawning’ over Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

The Prime Minister used a speech at the Scottish Labour conference in Glasgow to launch a full-throated attack on Reform’s ‘dangerous right-wing politics’.

It follows Reform’s recent poll surge, which has seen the party overtake both the Tories and Labour in some opinion surveys.

The most recent YouGov poll showed Reform on 27 per cent support, two percentage points ahead of Labour and six points ahead of the Conservatives.

Amid the political threat being posed by Mr Farage’s party, Sir Keir hit out at Reform over workers’ rights, the NHS and their stance on the Ukraine war.

He claimed the party’s offering is ‘alien to working people’ – but Mr Farage hit back at the PM’s ‘desperate’ attack.

The Reform leader warned that Labour’s ‘disastrous’ tax-hiking Budget would cost jobs.

Mr Farage also dismissed the PM’s ‘completely untrue’ suggestion that Reform wants to charge for access to the NHS.
