The murder trial concluded on Friday with the court releasing CCTV footage of Beau Lamarre-Condon dressed as an Uber Eats driver on the morning of the alleged killings.
In the footage, Lamarre-Condon can be seen walking around Brown Street in Paddington, near Baird’s share house, on the morning of February 19, 2024.
Dressed in a high-vis yellow jumper, blue pants with reflective strips, boots, and a large black motorbike helmet, he loiters around the street for a while before heading inside.
The sound of three gunshots can then be heard from the neighbour’s security camera.
Earlier, the court heard Lamarre-Condon allegedly asked his friend Georgia Cook, ‘What would you do if I told you I killed someone?’ and ‘Would you help me hide the body?’.
Ms Cook told the court on Friday that she met Lamarre-Condon at a boat party in 2021. They stayed in touch with phone calls, coffee dates, dinner, and on social media.
She said Lamarre-Condon started talking to her about Jesse Baird in 2022, telling her he met someone who he was ‘really happy about’.
That December, Lamarre-Condon was telling her about a farmstay that he and Baird had enjoyed, when he said: ‘I did do one crazy thing.’
‘He looked at Jesse’s phone and saw messages from another man who was a potential interest,’ she told the court.
Ms Cook said Lamarre-Condon was ‘infuriated’ and felt concerned that Baird was seeing other people.
The court heard they met for Thai in Kirribilli on May 29, 2023. As soon as he sat down at the table, he allegedly said: ‘What would you do if I told you I’d killed someone?’
Ms Cook told the court: ‘I froze. He said, “Would you help me hide the body?”. I said, “No, because I don’t want their ghost to haunt me”.’
He replied: ‘Don’t worry I didn’t do that, but I did something else crazy.’
She alleged that Lamarre-Condon told her he had been watching Baird from his house.
He allegedly told her that he watched Baird have sex with other men, and he watched Baird and his friends take Polaroids in the backyard.
Lamarre-Condon was upset because he bought the Polaroid camera for Baird, Ms Cook told the court.
‘He watched where Jesse left his key,’ she told the court.
‘Once they left in an Uber, he got the key, unlocked the door, stole the camera, ate Jesse’s Easter egg, and he wouldn’t tell me what else he did.’
Lamarre-Condon allegedly told Ms Cook that he watched Baird’s home using his mother’s car to maintain his cover, and that he would wear a black beanie.
Ms Cook will conclude her evidence on Monday morning.
