Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu has been included in the AS Monaco squad for the trip to Strasbourg following his recovery from injury.

The Black Stars centre-back picked up an injury while playing for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan in Libya.

The former Southampton player has been out since October but returned to training this week and was named in the team for the Ligue 1 clash.

His absence has been a huge blow for the French giants whose challenge for the title suffered within that period, as they dropped from being joint top to third place. They are currently six points behind leaders Paris Saint Germain.

Meanwhile, Salisu has not been included in the Black Stars team for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger next week. In his absence, coach Otto Addo invited French-based Nathaniel Adjei for the crucial games.

The Black Stars will travel to Luanda on Friday for the penultimate game of the AFCON qualifiers before hosting Niger on Monday, November 18, 2024.
