Ghanaian forward Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini continued his impressive form in Belgium after scoring in Union Saint-Gilloise’s 3-1 victory over RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Cup final at the Stade Roi Baudouin.
The thrilling encounter produced four goals and lived up to expectations as a fitting cup final.
Argentine defender Kevin Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 74th minute before Serbian striker Mihajlo Cvetkovic equalised six minutes later to force the game into extra time.
Fuseini, who had only been introduced in the 85th minute in place of Anouar Ait El Hadj, made an instant impact by scoring five minutes into extra time to restore Union Saint-Gilloise’s lead. Kevin Rodríguez later added the third goal to seal a memorable victory.
The goal means the Ghanaian attacker has now scored in back-to-back matches after also finding the net against KV Mechelen in Union Saint-Gilloise’s previous league game.
The triumph secured Union Saint-Gilloise’s fourth Belgian Cup title, having previously won the competition in 1913, 1914 and 2024. The club also remains firmly in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League title race, trailing leaders Club Brugge by just one point with three games remaining.
For the 23-year-old Right to Dream Academy graduate, the latest achievement adds to an outstanding period in his career as he now becomes both a Belgian league winner and Belgian Cup winner.
