The Ministry of Education has announced that the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has completed the processing and payment of two categories of teacher allowances scheduled for November 2025.

In a press release dated December 17, 2025, the Ministry explained that a technical challenge during the final payroll run delayed the payments. The issue, it said, has since been resolved by the CAGD, allowing the allowances to be fully processed and disbursed.

“The Ministry acknowledges that a technical issue in the final payroll run prevented the payment from being processed as planned. This unforeseen challenge has since been resolved, by the CAGD, paving the way for the completion of the payments”, the statement said.

The Ministry apologised to teachers affected by the delay and expressed appreciation for their patience, understanding, and continued dedication to duty.

According to the statement, teachers remain central to the delivery of quality education across the country, and their commitment is highly valued.

“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and continued dedication of our teachers, whose commitment remains central to the delivery of quality education across Ghana”, it stated.

The Ministry of Education further assured that it will continue working closely with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen payroll systems and prevent similar challenges in the future.
