A seemingly innocent video of Nigerian fashion designer, Veekee James and her husband Femi Atere enjoying themselves at a wedding at a wedding sparks intense debate online.

The Nigerian designer and her husband had attended the wedding of a fellow fashion designer, Prudent Gabriel where Veekee was the chief bridesmaid.

During the festivities, when everyone was dancing and spraying money on the celebrants, Veekee was spotted holding a bundle of dollar notes which she proceeded to shower on Prudent.

Her husband also joined in the celebration, but unlike his wife, he was holding two hundred naira notes. This glaring disparity is what caused debates online.

Many of those commenting on the video touted Veekee as insensitive, claiming she made her husband appear poor, and that they should have shared the dollar notes.

Others not in agreement with this notion argued that maybe it was the husband who did not want to spray what he did not have, and as a man confident in himself, he sprayed what he did have, which was ₦200 notes.

Apart from those commenting on the money, others criticized the couple for wearing white on another person’s wedding day.
