Hiplife icon Steven Fiawoo, popularly known as Praye Tietia of the legendary music trio Praye, has finally opened up about the emotional and spiritual rollercoaster he and his wife, actress and TV presenter Selly Galley, endured before becoming parents.
For many who have followed the story of the celebrity couple, their journey for a child has been one that was very worrying.
Well, in his first-ever interview since the birth of their twins, Praye Tietia joined Nana Romeo on Okay FM’s Ekwanso Dwoodwoo drive-time show to share the untold story behind their long wait to welcome children.
According to him, although this year marks a decade of marriage to Selly, it wasn’t until their eighth year together that they were blessed with their aborwble pair of twins born in 2024.
Speaking with a deep sense of gratitude and relief, he revealed how the delay in childbirth weighed heavily on them, particularly his wife.
“I was more worried for my wife than for myself. Women go through a lot, especially from family and society, when there are no children in a marriage,” he said.

But what hurt him the most during those years, he admitted, was the cruel trolling on social media directed at his wife. “It was very worrying for her. Being her husband and seeing what she was going through… it was traumatising. So for me, it was deeply fulfilling when God finally listened to our prayers and gave us these special gifts,” he added.
The singer categorically dismissed any suggestions that he had ever considered fathering a child outside of their marriage due to the pressure.
Tietia sadly also disclosed that there had been multiple miscarriages along the way, including the painful loss of a child at eight months.
In his closing remarks, Praye Tietia expressed gratitude to their church, pastors, close friends, loyal fans, and especially family members who remained supportive and understanding throughout their silent battles.
