    The wife of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu reflects on her historic win as the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 36 years ago today, December 4.

    The former beauty queen posted an old photo of herself from her early twenties to Instagram with the caption,

    “ON THIS DAY, 36 YEARS AGO…. BUTTERFLIES FLUTTERING IN MY STOMACH, I WAITED FOR THE FINAL CALL ON THE STAGE OF THE NATIONAL THEATRE, LAGOS DURING THE THIRD EDITION OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN NIGERIA PAGEANT. By His grace, it ended in praise”.

    She was crowned Nigeria’s Most Beautiful Girl in 1988 at 20 years of age and subsequently won Miss Africa and Miss Intercontinental.
