Head coach of English Premier League side Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, has said that the club will start discussions concerning the contract extension of Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey.

The coach said that the 31-year-old’s consistency is at the highest level, which impresses him a lot, coupled with his excellent performances throughout the season.

Arteta indicated that the Black Stars midfielder’s physical condition, which is in good state this season, has helped him to be available for most of the games, which he is delighted about.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s game against West Ham United on November 29, 2024, Arteta sounded optimistic about Partey’s contract renewal.

“We will have time to discuss the situation. He is showing consistency at the highest level, again because his availability and the way that he feels physically is allowing him to do that. I’m very happy with Thomas,” he said, as shared by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X.

Partey has played a key role for Arsenal since the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

He has featured in 12 matches for the team and scored two goals.
