Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Agyekum delivered a standout performance on Sunday evening, May 18, 2025, finding the back of the net to help Cercle Brugge thrash Patro Eisden 5-1 in the first leg of the Belgian Pro League relegation playoff.

Agyekum, who has been in impressive form this season, opened the scoring just eight minutes into the match with a composed finish after being set up by Brazilian forward Felipe Augusto.

Cercle maintained their dominance throughout the encounter, with German youngster Paris Brunner doubling their lead in the 25th minute.

Brunner struck again shortly after the break, further dampening the hopes of the home side.

Felipe Augusto, who had earlier provided the assist for Agyekum’s goal, turned a scorer himself in the 58th minute, capping a fine individual performance.
