Arsenal teenager Michelle Agyemang was over the moon on Tuesday evening, April 8, 2025, after scoring on her England Women’s debut.
The forward, who is of Ghanaian descent, had the opportunity to play her first match for the Three Lionesses in their UEFA Nations League clash against Belgium Women.
In a game where Agyemang replaced Jessica Park in the 80th minute, she scored with a stunning volley just 45 seconds later, making a big statement about her readiness to keep her place in the national team.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Michelle Agyemang said the goal meant a lot to her.
“It means a lot to me. I am really grateful for the opportunity to come in, make my debut, and score my first goal,” the forward said.
She continued, “We were unlucky with the result, but I think this team put in a lot of effort, and on another day, that’s three points. But I am really grateful for the opportunity.”
In her interview, Michelle Agyemang also promised that there is more to come from her.
“I think this is the best moment of my career so far, but hopefully there are many more to come. There is a lot more; I just want to go out there, put the work in, score goals, and help the team win games. That is what I am here for,” she said.
