Veteran Ghanaian journalist, Michael Oti Adjei has explained why he voted for PSG forward Ousmane Dembele Over Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal in 2025 Ballon d’Or.

According to Oti Adjei who is Ghana’s representative on the Ballon d’or voting panel, he picked Ousmane Dembele because he was the best player in the best team in the 2024/2025 season.

“I went Ousmane Dembele purely i think he was the best player in the best team in the year under review. I thought that his goals, assists, his evolution as a player was good.”

“The fact that PSG won the Champions League, League 1 and the domestic cup. I know people will say domestically PSG goes for a stroll but when you do that in the Champions League and the role that Dembele played in it is the reason why he was the man for me,” Oti Adjei said in a social media post sighted by GhanaWeb Sports.

He also acknowledged Lamine Yamal’s impressive performances during the season but insisted that the Frenchman enjoyed a stronger campaign than the Spanish international, which justified his triumph at the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Ousmane Dembélé won the 2025 Ballon d’Or by a wide margin against Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal. Demebele had 1380 points against Yamal’s 1059.
