Renowned television host Randy Abbey has formally resigned as the Managing Director of Ignite Media Group (IMG), the parent company of Metro TV, according to the most recent story published by Daily Graphic. The date of his resignation is December 31, 2024. Additionally, Abbey has resigned from his role on the media group’s board. Known for anchoring the well-liked morning show Good Morning Ghana, Abbey has not yet stated if he would be the show’s host in the upcoming year. His choice, which is anticipated to be made public shortly, is anxiously anticipated by many viewers.

At the Metro TV offices in Accra, a farewell ceremony was performed in his honor. Abbey’s accomplishments to the station and his influence on Ghana’s media scene were honored at the ceremony. In addition to his work in the media, Abbey is a well-known personality in Ghanaian football. In addition to being the president of Kpando Hearts of Lions Football Club, he is a member of the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Executive Council.

Abbey has received numerous accolades for his efforts over the years. He received the Order of the Volta in 2006 in recognition of his exceptional services to Ghana’s media sector. For his crucial contribution to Ghana’s successful qualification and participation in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, he was also awarded a Grand Medal in the same year. After serving as a key role at Metro TV for many years, Randy Abbey’s resignation signifies the end of an era. Nonetheless, many Ghanaians are still motivated by his accomplishments in sports and the media. Colleagues and admirers will be keeping a careful eye on him to see what the future holds.
