    Lionel Messi and the Argentina national team received massive applause upon their arrival in Luanda, Angola, ahead of their international friendly game.

    The team arrived on Thursday night, November 13, 2025, and thousands of fans in blue and white jerseys lined the streets, chanting Messi’s name continuously.

    Supporters ran towards the team bus in excitement as military vehicles escorted them to their hotel.

    The World Cup champions will play a friendly against Angola at Estádio 11 de Novembro on November 14, 2025, in an event funded by the government with €12 million.

    This initiative aims to enhance national pride and global connections despite economic hurdles, as part of the country’s 50th independence anniversary celebrations.

    The visit underscores Messi’s worldwide appeal, drawing massive crowds eager to see the legendary footballer in action, and promises to be an exciting encounter.
