Ghanaian singer and songwriter Wendy Shay has detailed some of the challenges of mentoring another person’s child.

In a post she made on her official TikTok page, the singer wrote; “The hardest part of mentoring someone else’s child is often the parents’ interference. What’s all this?”

The post has since sparked conversations online, with some suggesting that she should lets go and allow the child be mentored and natured by their parents.

Others, however, believe that if the singer is doing it well, then the parents wouldn’t interfere.

Not too long ago, Wendy Shay took in her custody two girls: Tracy Shay and Korkor Shay, who she promised to mentor and look after till they are done with their tertiary education.

The singer has so far stood by her word in caring for the girls.

Wendy Shay met these girls after they (the girls) became popular for using her (Wendy) to produce contents online, which quickly blew the visibility of her song.

Through that, Wendy Shay made a promise to support those girls.

However, Wendy’s association with the girls has over the months sparked many conversations, yet this is the first time the singer has made any complaints about it.
