WBA president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza officially opened the 104th convention with a slew of champions past and present. On hand were Roberto Duran, Franchon Dezurn-Crews, Katie Taylor, Koki Kameda, Rolly Romero, Shane Mosley Sr., Bernard Hopkins, Kina Malpartida, Jessie Vargas and Jorge Linares.
