Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has sparked controversy on social media following a comment he made during a recent podcast appearance.

In a video shared on X on June 30, 2025, 2Baba stated that men are not biologically built to be with just one woman sexually.

He explained that while a man can love and respect a woman deeply, it is difficult for him to remain sexually faithful to only one partner.

“Sexually, it is impossible for a man to be with just one woman. His heart, love, and respect can belong to one woman, but sexually, men are not built to stick to one woman. A man can love a woman completely, but staying with only her isn’t possible,” he said.

He further argued that men are naturally polygamous.

2Baba said many relationship problems, including heartbreak and emotional distress, could be avoided if society accepted polygamous relationships.

“What I’m saying is based on biology, and anyone who wants to argue with me can go ahead. This is a fact, and we need to accept it. A lot of heartbreak and unnecessary stress would be avoided if we just embraced this simple truth,” he added.

His comments have since triggered mixed reactions on social media.

While some users criticised the ‘African Queen’ hitmaker, accusing him of promoting indiscipline and adultery, others expressed support for his viewpoint.

One user on X commented, “When someone does something wrong and starts lying to themselves, they begin to seek facts or opinions that justify their actions. Now imagine such a person being influential and affluent, they become another version of wrong in society.

“2Face is slowly becoming, or has already become, a terrible example. He’s the reason people now believe ALL MEN are naturally polygamous (not even polyamorous, sef). Someone who isn’t a scientist is now trying to ‘fact-check’ nonsense.”

Another user added, “Only a disciplined and God-fearing man sticks to one woman.”

Saying “it’s biology” is just an excuse for adultery. If it was truly impossible for a man to be with one woman, God wouldn’t have asked men to be faithful or he would have created two or more women for Adam.
