Melania Trump gave her reaction to the viral video of her son Barron talking about his ‘soot case,’ saying she is ‘very proud of him.’
In her first interview since Donald Trump won the election, the incoming first lady talked about her plans for the White House, her son being ‘grown,’ and her husband’s dance moves.
She admitted she has never tried Trump’s signature styles on the dance floor, but called it all his own.
‘This is very special and unique dance,’ she told Fox & Friends. ‘And I think a lot of people are copying it and everybody have fun with it.’
She also described the 18-year-old Barron as a ‘grown young man’ and talked about how he helped his father’s presidential campaign.
‘He is a grown young man, I’m very proud of him about his knowledge, even about politics and giving advice to his father. He brought in so many young people he knows his generation,’ she said.
‘Because nowadays, the young generation, they don’t sit in front of TV anymore, they’re all on their tablets, they’re on their phones and all of this these podcasts and streamers. He was very vocal and he gave advice to his father and was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needs to contact and to talk to,’ she added.
While she didn’t address the viral video, she did reference it. After the Fox & Friends hosts played the clip, the incoming first lady sounded a little wistful as she pointed out: ‘Years go by so fast. We just don’t imagine. It’s like I see the clip that you just showed, I feel like it was like a few months ago, but time goes so fast.’
Melania Trump was on ‘Fox & Friends’ for her first post-election interview
Last month Barron Trump has broken the internet as a clip of him when he was just four years old gushing over his expensive Louis Vuitton suitcase while in a snazzy suit went viral on TikTok.
‘I like, I like my suitcase,’ Barron said, as he picked up the heavy briefcase and toted it around to his mother Melania.
The infamous clip revealed Baron’s Slovenian accent as a child, which most people were unaware he had, as he’s been mostly out of the spotlight despite his father’s influence.
Barron is now a student a NYU and Melania noted that, because of his famous family name, it’s hard for him to have a normal college experience.
‘I don’t think it’s possible for him to be a normal student. His experience at college, it’s very different than any other kid,’ she noted.
The incoming first lady also showed her playful side and sense of humor – something the public rarely saw from her in the White House – when she was asked about Donald Trump’s infamous dance moves.
She playfully hit back when the Fox & Friends hosts teased her about her husband’s style on the dance floor.
‘This is very special and unique dance,’ she said. ‘And I think a lot of people are copying it and everybody have fun with it.’
‘Is this how you dance,’ Brian Kilmeade asked her.
‘No,’ Melania said, laughing in her response.
‘Did you give him any tips,’ Steve Doocy asked.
‘No,’ Melania said, still laughing. ‘He’s coming all on his own.
Doocy followed up by asking: ‘Have you ever done the Trump dance – you are Mrs. Trump.’
‘I did not,’ she replied.

During the 20 minute interview, Melania also explained why she snubbed Jill Biden’s invitation to come to the White House for tea when Donald Trump met with President Joe Biden in the Oval Office.
She pointed out she lived in the White House for four years and knows it well.
‘This time it’s very different because we already know where we are going and we have all of the plans from before. So we don’t need to go back in,’ she said.
‘My team is in contact with the White House, so that’s a plus. But we have all what we need, so this is the second time so it’s nothing new. The first time was challenging. We didn’t have much access, we were in on January 20th. But this time it’s already in the process,’ she added.
Melania said she is busy packing her things for the move, setting up her office and interviewing staff.
‘I know what you need to establish,’ she said. ‘You know what kind of people you need to hire to be in your office. So that’s what I’m doing now. I’m interviewing people for my office. I’m establishing everything what is needed so we could start on day one, everybody’s in and we start working.’
Melania has hired a chief of staff for the East Wing, naming a longtime Trump loyalist as her chief of staff.
Hayley Harrison, who worked in the East Wing during the first Donald Trump administration and joined the Trumps in Florida after they left the White House, was named to the position.
Harrison, along with her husband William ‘Beau’ Harrison, are Trump White House staffers who joined the first couple in Mar-a-Lago for their post-presidency life. Hayley and Beau traveled on Marine One with the Trumps from the White House on January 20th, 2021.
The couple have stayed in Trump’s inner circle and on the payroll: they are paid by Trump’s Save America PAC to work for former president, according to Federal Election Commission reports. Hayley was pulling in about $8,0000 to $10,000 a month in salary. William was earning a similar amount until November 2023, when he received his last payment from the PAC.
In the chief of staff announcement, Harrison’s longtime loyalty – seven years of working for Melania Trump – was noted. Donald Trump also has stacked his staff with loyalists.
‘Mrs. Harrison has maintained an integral role and exceptional leadership on the First Lady’s team over the past seven years. She has a strong understanding of White House operations, and as Chief of Staff, Mrs. Harrison will oversee and manage the East Wing’s team while strategically liaising with other parts of government,’ she noted.
