Black Stars coach Otto Addo has made a bold call in his latest call-ups, naming three local players in his squad for the final games in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

This is the highest number of local players invited to the Black Stars since he took over for his second stint in February 2024.

The three players named in the 25-man squad have been sensational for their respective clubs, hence, the call-up appears to be rewarding.

They will hope to impress the manager during training sessions and make a case for subsequent call-ups.

Ghana will face Angola on November 15 in Luanda before hosting Niger on November 18 to close the qualifying series.

Here are the three local players named in the squad

    Issac Afful

Isaac Afful plays for reigning Ghana Premier League champions Samartex. This is his second call-up to the Black Stars.

He earned his debut call-up in October for the doubleheader against Sudan.

    Emmanuel Antwi

Emmanuel Antwi is a midfielder who plays for Asante Kotoko. He joined the Reds on a free transfer after his contract with Great Olympics ran out.

Antwi has been one of the brightest spots for Kotoko who sit third on the table. This is his maiden senior call-up and will be one of the midfield options for Otto Addo.

    Razak Simpson

Razak Simpson is a centre-back who plays for Nations FC. He has been pivotal for his side who are in the race for the title.

Nations FC are second on the table, trailing league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by three points.

Otto Addo explains Thomas Partey’s omission from Black Stars squad for Angola, Niger games:
