Jerry John Rawlings was the only president of Ghana who never lost an election
Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings was the only president of Ghana who went through his entire political journey without ever losing an election. In fact, with him, any time he showed up on the scene, it was only to win, whether it was through a coup d’etat, or through peaceful, fair, and transparent elections.
With that feat, he is the only president in Ghana’s entire history to have achieved such a successful streak of winning at the highest office of the land.
Following the peculiarity of the 2024 Election and how the results turned out, particularly when Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party aimed to break the 8-year cycle in Ghana’s political history, it brings into the spotlight the political leaders in Ghana and how successful or not they have been at elections.
