    Henry Arnold Gyamfi, a newly qualified medical doctor from the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), has delivered an exceptional academic performance after sweeping 10 awards at the university’s 58th Congregation ceremony held for graduands of the College of Health and Allied Sciences on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

    At the graduation ceremony, Dr Gyamfi took home 10 out of 25 awards. He emerged as the Best Graduating Student in Community Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Child Health, Internal Medicine and Therapeutics, Radiology, and Neuroscience.

    He was also recognised as the Best Clinical Student, Best Graduating Male Student, Best Male Medical Student, and the Overall Best Performance award winner.

    Speaking in an interview on ATL FM, Dr Gyamfi said he is still considering his area of specialisation but has a keen interest in internal medicine, with a possible subspecialty in cardiology.

    “Currently, I am considering internal medicine and a subspecialty in cardiology. But hopefully, after the housemanship, it will be clear enough for me to know exactly which path to take,” he said.

    He expressed gratitude to the Asantehene, Otunfuo Osei-Tutu II, for sponsoring his education, describing the support as instrumental to his success throughout medical school.

    Dr Gyamfi completed T I Ahmadiyya Senior High School, popularly known as Real Amass, in Kumasi.

    He later pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant before gaining admission to study medicine at UCC, where he went on to achieve the remarkable academic feat.
