The University of Ghana has celebrated a historic academic achievement as Ephraim Ayeh Oracca-Tetteh becomes the first student to graduate with a perfect Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 4.0 at the February 2025 Congregation.

The university shared the update on its official X page, highlighting Oracca-Tetteh as the Overall Best Student of the graduating class.

According to the school, he began his education at Faith Christian Academy before proceeding to St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School, where he studied Visual Arts and won a regional visual arts quiz competition.

In 2017, he gained admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to study Painting and Sculpture but had to withdraw due to worsening eyesight.

Determined to continue his education, he sought support from the Ghana Blind Union, where he underwent training in Assistive Technology.

Equipped with new skills, he applied to the University of Ghana in 2021 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Philosophy and Classics, and Archaeology.

His academic excellence earned him the Alumni Prize for Best Level 200 Humanities Student at the 2021/2022 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards.

Beyond academics, Oracca-Tetteh has been an active student leader and a strong advocate for inclusion.

He served as Organising Secretary and Public Relations Officer for the Campus Association of Students with Special Needs, championing the rights and welfare of students with disabilities.

He also played a significant role in student-led academic initiatives and volunteered with Radio Univers.

His dedication to education extends to his role as a facilitator for a joint project by the Ghana Education Service (GES), T-TEL, and KTI, where he trained senior high school teachers on integrating technology into teaching.

His academic interests span assistive technology, cognitive science, philosophy, and law, with aspirations to become an academic focusing on human rights and inclusion.
