The Me Boafo Foundation successfully hosted a two-day Creative Trade Workshop on February 13th and 14th, 2025, at Aegis Hall in Asamankese, bringing together over 50 young participants eager to develop practical skills for self-employment and financial independence.

Empowering Youth Through Entrepreneurship and Vocational Training

The workshop kicked off with a business and entrepreneurship session, where expert facilitators guided participants on how to start and manage sustainable businesses. Emphasis was placed on innovation, financial literacy, and market positioning, highlighting entrepreneurship as a key driver of job creation and economic growth.

The second day focused on hands-on vocational training, with participants divided into specialized groups based on their interests. They received practical coaching in:

    Photography

    Makeup Artistry & Hairstyling

    Graphic Design, Printing & Branding

These trades were selected based on their high demand in the local market and their potential to create immediate income-generating opportunities for young people.

Recognizing Excellence & Investing in Future Leaders

At the end of the workshop, participants received certificates of participation as a token of encouragement. Additionally, the Me Boafo Foundation identified two outstanding trainees from each discipline who demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill. These selected individuals will receive six months of free professional training to further enhance their expertise and entrepreneurial potential.

Executive Director’s Vision for Sustainable Impact

Speaking at the event, Dr. Emmanuel Obiri Addo, Executive Director of Me Boafo Foundation, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to youth empowerment:

“This workshop is more than just skill-building; it’s about creating opportunities for young people to take control of their future. By equipping them with practical knowledge, we are laying the foundation for sustainable livelihoods and economic growth.”

Dr. Addo also highlighted how the program fosters networking and collaboration, enabling participants to connect with industry professionals, potential clients, and business partners.

Participants’ Testimonials & Calls for Expansion

Attendees expressed deep gratitude for the training, describing it as a life-changing experience. Many called for more frequent workshops to further develop their skills and career prospects.

Driving Change: Aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The initiative contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

SDG 1: No Poverty – Equipping youth with income-generating skills.

SDG 4: Quality Education – Providing vocational and business training.

SDG 5: Gender Equality – Ensuring equal opportunities for all.

SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth – Promoting entrepreneurship.

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities – Empowering disadvantaged youth.

    Looking Ahead: Expanding the Impact

Building on the success of this initiative, the Me Boafo Foundation aims to extend the program to more communities, ensuring that more young people gain access to quality vocational training and entrepreneurship education.

The pro for the foundation mr asked the participants to Follow Me Boafo Foundation on social media for updates on upcoming programs and ways to support youth empowerment.
