Ghanaian media personality, DJ Slim, has criticised his colleague MC Portfolio for being hypocritical after he accepted GH¢ 5,000 from dancehall artiste Shatta Wale during a media tour in Kumasi over the weekend.

In a discussion on his ‘Street is Watching’ podcast, DJ Slim expressed disappointment, stating that MC Portfolio, a known member of Stonebwoy’s camp, should not have accepted money from his rival, Shatta Wale.

Slim emphasised that Portfolio had let down the BHIM camp by accepting the money.

“Right on Angel FM, in front of everyone, he openly said that Sammy Flex gives him money. When he met Shatta, you could see his mixed feelings, he couldn’t articulate himself properly. He even worked with Shatta during the Kumasi Invasion project, and as a result, Shatta’s bodyguards slapped him heavily,” DJ Slim said.

He continued: “So, after all these things, why would he want to be on the same show with Shatta, especially when he has tweeted on X that he is currently in Stonebwoy‘s camp? And whatever conversations he had with Stonebwoy about the TGMA’s should not have been discussed with Shatta. Once you choose to support Stonebwoy, you should stick with that; you can’t switch sides and support Shatta.”

DJ Slim also questioned how MC Portfolio could accept the GH₵ 5,000 from Shatta Wale, given how Stonebwoy has actively supported him all this while.

“If Shatta really wanted to give you money, he would have done it behind the scenes, not on national television. See how he folded when Shatta gave him the 5K. Stonebwoy gave you exposure, and you turned down his offer. Yet, you accepted money from Shatta Wale on TV,” Slim added.

DJ Slim then posed a question to MC Portfolio: “Now that you’ve settled your differences with Shatta Wale, will you still criticise him when you sit on shows?

“ If you do, it will show up on his feed since he has unblocked you. Will you sit on shows with me (DJ Slim) and Andy Dosty?”

He Hitz FM presenter also pointed out that MC Portfolio was even present when Shatta Wale publicly disrespected Andy Dosty.

“Portfolio was there when Shatta disrespected Andy Dosty on air, telling him he was old school and should forget about him. Andy has opened a lot of doors for you, and you didn’t stand up for him. Now, how will people who work with Andy view you? When you’re in Accra, Multimedia is your home. Now you’ve done this, will you still be able to go there?”

    Background

On November 22, 2024, dancehall musician Shatta Wale embarked on a media tour in the Ashanti region, visiting stations like Angel FM and Fakye Showbiz.

During his appearance on Fakye Showbiz, Shatta Wale offered MC Portfolio GH¢ 5,000.

Shatta also explained why he had blocked MC Portfolio on X, stating that he had done so after Portfolio and DJ Slim disrespected him on a program.

According to Shatta, this disrespect led to the block and his decision to avoid mentioning DJ Slim’s name “until he dies.”

Meanwhile, MC Portfolio, a staunch supporter of Stonebwoy, clarified on Fakye Showbiz that he does not want to get involved in any dispute between the two dancehall artistes.
