French-born defender Marvin Senaya has officially declared his willingness to represent the Ghana Black Stars, handing a significant boost to Ghana’s defensive options ahead of upcoming international competition.

The 23-year-old, who plays professionally in France, completed the necessary nationality switch after discussions with officials from the Ghana Football Association. His decision follows months of speculation over his international future, having previously been eligible to play for France.

Senaya expressed pride in embracing his Ghanaian heritage, noting that the opportunity to represent the Black Stars is a “dream come true.” He also highlighted conversations with members of the national team setup as influential in his final decision.

GFA officials welcomed the development, describing Senaya as a versatile and energetic defender capable of strengthening the squad’s depth. His arrival is expected to increase competition for places in the team, particularly in the full-back positions.

The defender recently received his maiden call-up for Ghana’s upcoming fixtures, as the Black Stars continue preparations toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup and other continental assignments.
