A Texas orchestra teacher who resembles Miss Honey from the movie Matilda was arrested for allegedly having sex with a middle school student.
Kara Hernandez, 32, from Missouri City, is accused of having sex with a minor three years ago while teaching at Ronald Thornton Middle School.
The alleged incidents took place in April and October of 2022, according to court records reviewed by DailyMail.com.
Hernandez is said to have made the student touch her genitals during both instances ‘with the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire’ of herself or the unidentified student, the filing stated.
She was arrested on February 14 after allegations were brought to Fort Bend ISD’s attention in September by a former student, the district said.
Hernandez resigned from her position during the investigation, they added.
The married mother-of-four was the director of the orchestra at the middle school, where she would ‘collaborate’ with nearby high schools to ‘ensure the Sienna Orchestra students have a meaningful musical, educational, and community experience throughout their seven years,’ the website stated.
‘Mrs. Hernandez firmly believes that her purpose in life is to provide an exceptional music education for students,’ it continued.

Hernandez not only taught in the district, but attended Clements High School, Commonwealth Elementary School and Fort Settlement Middle School where she found her passion for orchestra.
Outside of teaching, she is said to enjoy ‘spending time outdoors and supporting the Houston Astros with her husband and their four children,’ her bio said.
In a letter sent to parents and students addressing her alleged actions, Fort Bend ISD said: ‘Recently, allegations of past inappropriate conduct by a Thornton Middle School staff member were brought to the district’s attention by a former student.
‘Fort Bend ISD immediately began an investigation, and the staff member was immediately removed from the campus and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The staff member will not be returning to FBISD.’

A $50,000 has been set for her – $25,000 for each charge. She is due in court on April 28, according to court documents.
