The investigation into the burglary of Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan‘s Essex home last year has reportedly been shelved due to lack of progress.

The former TOWIE star and the then-heavily pregnant actress, both 39, were left terrified when four masked raiders broke into their £3.5million Essex mansion on the evening of February 17 2025, forcing the pair to lock themselves in a bedroom.

And in a new update about the crime, the police have ‘filed’ the case, with CCTV and forensic evidence failing to identify the suspects.

Essex police told the Daily Mail: ‘Following a comprehensive investigation into a burglary in the Ongar area in February 2025, this has now been filed.’

‘This decision was taken following extensive enquiries including area searches, witness interviews, gathering forensic evidence and CCTV assessment. Our officers ensured the victims were safeguarded throughout this work and moving forwards.’

‘Should any further information relating to this investigation be found, further enquiries will be conducted.’

The Sun states that there are fears that an ‘international gang’ targeted the house after spotting it on social media, with Mark having extensively documented their lavish home renovations on Instagram.

The Daily Mail has contacted Mark and Michelle’s representatives for comment.

After the incident, the couple were said to be ‘very shaken up’, having allegedly heard their window smash and their security alarm go off before rushing to a bedroom for safety.

It is reported four suspects entered their sprawling property for around a minute but hurried away when Mark started yelling.

According to The Sun, police were alerted via their ‘state-of-the-art security system and arrived at the couple’s Essex mansion within minutes’.

The gang of raiders were reportedly ‘wearing balaclavas and dressed in black and fled the scene empty-handed in a getaway car’.

A source told the publication: ‘It was a traumatic experience for both of them but they are relieved that neither of them were injured.

‘Mark did the sensible thing and stayed with his wife to make sure she was OK and they waited for police to arrive before leaving the room.

‘It was a horrible thing to go through, particularly for someone who is heavily pregnant. They are understandably very shaken up by what happened.’

In a new update about the crime, it is said that police have ‘filed’ the case, with CCTV and forensic evidence failing to identify the suspects

Just weeks after the burglary, the pair welcomed their baby daughter Palma, now 18 months.

Detectives reportedly believe the gang were professionals ‘looking for a big score’ on the countryside property’s extensive grounds.

A camera allegedly detected the gang arriving at the house and sent alerts to Mark and Michelle’s phone.

The source added: ‘Mark realised someone was breaking into the house, his first thoughts were for Michelle’s protection and he acted swiftly.’

The couple regularly post interior and exterior pictures of their mansion on their separate Instagram pages as well as their home account.

Their home account, Wrightyhome, has 645,000 followers and follows the couple’s huge renovation project from years ago.
