A man’s striking skin change after applying bleaching cream to his leg has garnered attention on social media.
The noticeable difference between the man’s top and lower bodies was seen in a video that @baibymafe shared.
Due to the bleach reducing the concentration of melanin in that part of his body, his two legs were lighter in the shade. However his feet remained their natural color, along with his upper body.
@baibymafe verified that the man and his wife were bleaching because they are neighbors after a TikTok user opposed the idea that the man’s skin had been altered by bleaching lotion.
Reactions to the viral video have been mixed, it has stirred debates over the reason behind the skin change.
While some conjectured that the man might have suffered a burn injury from hot water, others concluded that he was using a harsh substance that was likely bleaching lotion.
According to netizens, the man had vitiligo, a skin disorder that results in patches of skin losing melanin. It is said that no one can bleach one area of their body while leaving the other area untouched.
