    A Nigerian man has gained traction online after highlighting that more Nigerians should consider ‘Japa’ while using his sister-in-law’s success story abroad as an example.

    In a post on X (Twitter), he revealed that his sister-in-law, a medical doctor, recently received her first biweekly paycheck after relocating to the United States.

    According to him, she took home $6,380.63, despite working only Monday to Thursday, contrasting her previous life in Nigeria, where she earned less than ₦200,000 monthly after working tirelessly from Mondays to Fridays for six years.

    He ended the post with a strong message to Nigerians, urging them to ‘Run!’

    His tweet read;

    “My sister-in-law worked Monday to Thursday and got her first biweekly paycheck as a medical doctor – $6,380.63 net pay… The same person worked tirelessly from Mondays to Fridays in Nigeria as a medical doctor and got less than 200k monthly pay for 6 years… Let that sink $6k plus bi-weekly, and will get an additional $6k plus in 2 weeks. 12k net pay monthly.. Pay gets to increase each year.. I am thankful Nigeria didn’t happen to her. She is alive today to enjoy and live the best things money can buy.  Her hard work paid off. Thank you, God! Nigeria is another reason to move.. Run! Run!! Run!!!“.

    Below are some of the comments the post gained;

    “This is quite emotional. Imagine from $120 per month to about $13k per month. It won’t be well with the politicians that kept Nigeria in the dark. Anyone that can leave, shouldn’t look back.”

    “They will tell you Nigerian doctors had heavily subsidized education, so they shouldn’t complain about the poor salary and unpaid allowances.”

    “Omo, $12k monthly compared to 200k . No medical doctor in nigeria earns more than 900k salary.”
