A man has sparked reactions online after sharing his mum’s creative method of securing special items in their fridge at home.

He mentioned that after removing the conventional fridge lock, his mum came up with an alternative way to restrict access whenever there’s a special item inside. Instead of leaving it open, she reportedly ties the fridge door with a polythene (nylon) bag to prevent easy access.

He explained that the method is usually applied when there’s something important in the fridge, ensuring no one can casually open it without her knowledge. The man added that his mum was the only person who knew how to untie it, and if, by chance, any family member unties it to retrieve an item from the fridge, she will definitely notice.

The revelation amused many social media users, with many relating to similar experiences growing up, where parents used unconventional methods to guard food items in the fridge.
