A man has been charged with murder over an alleged stabbing attack in an apartment complex in Adelaide‘s CBD.

Lewis Parkin, 23, was discovered by first responders at the west end of Hindley Street just before 8pm on Friday.

He was rushed to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A 42-year-old man from St Marys, in Adelaide’s southern suburbs, was arrested by police after being found several kilometres away near the River Torrens.

Police say he had left the accomodation before emergency services arrived.

The man has been refused bail and is expected to appear before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on November 11.

The two men were known to each other and the incident is not considered random, police said in a statement on Saturday.

Any witnesses or businesses with CCTV in the area should contact Crime Stoppers.
